visita iglesia is one of the practices every lenten season for all Catholics. it is a practice wherein all Catholics visit different churches, pray and do the way of the cross. it is relieving what Jesus went through when He was nailed to the cross. it is for us to remember that He sacrificed Himself and died for us to save us all.
what me and my friends do is visit 7 churches, pray, and recite two stations of the cross per church. i think the real deal is to do all 14 stations of the cross per church. anyway, thats how we do it. so last night, we first went to claret church, then at church of the holy sacrifice in UP. we had a break and ate our favorite kwek kwek, squid balls and fish balls. :) we continued with our journey. the other churches were de la strada, sta clara, eastwood, christ the king and last and final was the new church wich is the st. pio chapel in libis. it was all our first to visit that church and we had quite an experience there. first of all, dress code is strictly implemented there. so they prepared a malong as cover for people who are in sleeveless (like me) and in shorts. they also lent out crosses, as in the real cross in which all devotees have to carry it while doing the station of the cross. it made us feel the real thing about carrying a cross on our shoulder. cool! it made the process more meaningful.
we capped the night by having a late dinner at shakey's :) sarap! sarap din to have friends like them. im blessed.
oh, and the words that really touched me that spoke of the meaning of the way of the cross were: "life without this love, is death"
