sweet hopes

i love sweets. i love desserts. when i was in grade school, i learned how to make panckes. in high school, i had a first hand in baking in one of our classes. then my best friend's mom taught us to make chocolate chip cookies and chocolate crinkles. though the results were unsuccessful (hard rock!), i loved it.

i remember that i wanted to go to a culinary school in college. i am not sure why it didn't push through. maybe becaue we lack funds or perhaps i didn't know where to enroll. back then, culinary wasn't as 'in' as it is now.

now i just read recipes, search the net and attend some short courses. i want to learn. i want to bake. i love sweets. i started to sell some about 2 years ago. hopefully this year, i'll be able to sell more and not just during the christmas season. hopefully, i'll be able to perfect the recipes that i know and that people would love it. i am hoping i could supply some of my goodies to caterers, bake shop, coffee shop, grocery, food booth, etc.

countless of times, i've mentioned that i love sweets ever since i was in grade school. and that's when my desire to learn how to bake started. up to this day, i want to learn more. i actually want to enroll in a culinary school and have formal education. maybe someday. i want to be good at what i do. so for the meantime, i practice ;)

every now and then, i bake and i also make chocolates. it kind of distresses me. that's good. anyway, for the past weeks, i was on high making valentine cupcakes for our clients at the laundry shop, cupcakes for my daughter robin's birthday party and chocolates for my sister's pre-wedding preparation. she plans to send the chocolates and cupcakes together with her save-the-date-card.

sweets sacrifice

today, i was advised by my OB to lessen sweets or sugar intake. she already told me last week during check up that the baby is big. now the blood tests or what they call the ugtt came out and it seems that my sugar level is high. so i need to 'diet' or else, ill have a hard time giving birth. not only that, the baby might be affected too. sugar, sweets, its what i live for. hehe. now i have to sacrifice my love for sweets just so to keep the baby (and me) healthy. now that's what i call a sweet sacrifice very worth taking :)
